Branch Report - October 2026
I am writing this on the day we heard that our secretary Bob Smith had died the previous night.
It is my birthday and so reflecting on my life. Extremely sad news. I met Bob the first evening he attended our Monday meeting. At the time he worked for the Post Office in Birmingham but lived near Burton on Trent and so chose our branch as being nearly en route. He sat with us. He was quiet but joined in the conversation. A few years later he volunteered to become branch secretary. At committee meetings he contributed when necessary but otherwise just took notes and checked information. Bob attended some events both 'in house' and at rallies elsewhere. At the Concorde Rally this year he went in his car and stayed at a nearby hotel! He was a main organiser of our 'Bring it home Rally'. We shall miss him.
You may read this after the N.E.C. show we attended. Hopefully it was a good one so thank you if you have contributed.
Our final organised event will be our Christmas meal, probably at the H.O.E.S.C. please support this and make it a good one. We will be attending the club every Monday evening throughout Christmas and the New Year so if you have nothing better to do then please join us.
We have just one new member this month: Chris Perks. We hope you can make it to the club one evening.
