Meriden Branch Report September 2023

September was a fairly quiet month for our branch with no events of our own. However we have been attending other events: The Atherstone Motor show is an excellent annual one day event held in the town centre that attracts hundreds of vehicles of all descriptions. Several of our members attended including me on the Tina which, although trailered there, did a couple of laps of the area under its own steam (or was it 2 stroke smoke?). David Parry did lead a run there but only 2 joined it.

The following weekend I arranged to lead a ride in to Hinckley for a similar show, but even bigger! 4 of us were on that one, me on my Tiger 90 this time. Several more members were there when we arrived. Both events were well up to their usual high standard.

Bristol Branches Concorde rally is a favourite of some of our members and this year was attended by 14 from our branch. This resulted in us being presented with the best attendance award. I am told the weather was a bit mixed but a good weekend was had by all.

We are still taking names of members who wish to display a bike (or 2) at the N.E.C. Classic show. If you are quick we may be able to squeeze you in. Members of any branch are welcome. See our advert in this journal.

We welcome a new member, Mark Savage.
