Meriden Branch Report July 2023

The main July events for us were the Mallory Bike Bonanza and Founders Day.

A few hardy members attended Mallory Park Racing Circuit for this weekend event.

It seemed to be reasonably enjoyable in spite of the showery weather. Overnight our gazebo was damaged despite precautions being taken. A ‘new one’ has been sourced from Bob Wisdom. Little used and at a reasonable price.

The annual Founders Day event at Stanford Hall, near Lutterworth is always well attended by several thousand visitors who come to see the numerous bike club stands, the many hundred mainly classic and vintage bikes and peruse the huge auto jumble area. However the day was forecast to be rather damp. This cut down the number of bikes on the branch stand. However the weather was good and the crowds arrived. So the day turned out well.

September is devoid of branch events but the Atherstone and Hinckley ‘motor shows’ on the 10th and 17th are generally attended by a good few members and are recommended.

The big upcoming event is the annual Classic Vehicle show at the N.E.C. from 10th to 12th November. We have a big area there and welcome bikes from any section (see our advert in this issue) the more unusual the better.

Our regular Monday evening meets in Meriden continue to be well attended and all members – or would be members- are very welcome by whatever transport they wish.
