Meriden Branch Report September 2022

The NEC Classic Motor Show is fast approaching. We still need bikes to populate our stand. In return you will get free entry passes. See the advert in Nacelle and get in contact with chairman Denis, the stand organiser at chairman@triumphmeriden.org.uk as soon as possible!

Our Festive meal is, once again, at the Harvester on the A46 at Stonebridge. £10 for members (subsidised and £15 for guests). Pay on a Monday evening at the club, contact Den. or Bob. or visit our area at the NEC.

Our annual ride over the Long Mynd was put back a week because it would have clashed with Coventry Motofest but unfortunately Motofest was cancelled. The rescheduled run resulted in a lower turnout than usual.

Several members attended an event at the National Motorcycle Museum to celebrate 50 years since Norman Hyde set sidecar speed records. Norman gave an interesting talk on the project and the experience of travelling at well over 100mph on a sidecar outfit.! (see the photo) One of our members, Chris Hammond, won the concourse prize for best pre 90 Triumph with his T150 Trident at this event.

There are no new members this month but we welcome back Michael Martin who has rejoined.

Our Monday evenings are now spent inside the Heart of England Club where we chat about bikes and hear the latest news and gossip. All members, their guests and prospective members are very welcome.
