Meriden Branch Report August 2022

Our annual ‘Bring it home’ Rally probably attracted its biggest attendance ever. 111 campers enjoyed good weather, an interesting ride out to a donkey sanctuary And a good quiz organized by Shirley and Annette  The one low point was the band, who’s set had to be curtailed because they were too loud. Steve Malin stepped into the breach with a disco session. Over £1500 was raised for the ‘Air Ambulance’

A number of our branch attended the ‘Big Branch Bash’ and had a good weekend.

Also a few members attended the Shropshire branch "Tiddly Rally" followed a couple of weeks later by the B&W branch Thunderbird Rally. Both enjoyable weekends with good weather.

the Concorde Rally at the end of September is cancelled this year. It usually gets a good turnout from our branch and we have come away with the branch turnout trophy a few times.

A couple of members turned out at the NMM to see John Young on his JoG-LE run on the 4 cylinder George Pooley built "Quadrant". They abandoned that attempt, mostly due to oil leaks but will have another go, hopefully mid September. He will be speaking at the VMCC Warwickshire meeting on October 12. all TOMCC members are invited. More details by email and on the website.

Interesting bikes are still requested for the Classic Vehicle Show at N.E.C. in November. See ad. On page ??

Two new members this month Adam Erzen and Tomislav Mandic.
