Meriden Branch Report April 2023

Clive Humphries has been a member of our branch for many years and is well known   nationally as a supplier of Triumph parts and an expert at working on them. His health has not been good for a year or two so he can no longer ride or work. We at the branch thought it would be a nice gesture to a) pay for his membership for this year and b) propose at the recent national A.G.M. that he be made an honorary member for life. This was passed unanimously. We wish Clive the very best and hope to see him at club events.

On Easter Sunday 10 bikes and a combo. Carried 12 members to the Acorn Children's Hospice in Birmingham. This is an annual event, led by Martin Wake, to hand over monies collected from members, plus this year £300 from branch funds and £300 from Geoff Skinners funeral collection, totalling £1,345. They were greeted by staff and 2 residents. The money was gratefully received, then hot chocolate and biscuits were served.

As a precursor to the main festival, which is being held on 3rd and 4th June where we have a branch stand, a Saturday morning event was held in Broadgate and attended by several branch members. A good meet in spite of the showers!

This month we welcome 5 new members: They are Tony Harris, Dean Smith, Adrian McIntosh, Amanda McIntosh and Neil Dillon. We would love to See you Monday evenings.
