Meriden Branch Report November 2017

About fifteen members joined the VMCC Midland section Jim Fellows run on October 8th to Bidford Gliding Club. A lovely bright sunny day to sit outside and chat while enjoying the refreshments from the cafe. For some the ride back included the now usual stop at Wren Hall.

We teamed up with B&W lads for a joint display of 20 bikes at the NEC Classic Show. The bike section seems to be getting smaller year on year but we still had plenty of encouraging comments and interest in the club. Many thanks to all who had input.

Shirley and I assisted on the Club stand at Bike Live at the NEC. Good to meet up with members and sign up many new owners. The Triumph stand was huge and very busy but they need to brush up on the marque history.

By the time you read this, fifty members and partners will have enjoyed our Christmas meal at the Stonebridge Carvery. Unfortunately we can't indulge in the silly games that once rounded off the evening due to 'elf & safety, but still a good night out.

If you fancy a ride out on Boxing Day we will be leaving the NMM at 11am with the VMCC lads, ending up at The Dog at Nether Whitacre. Come and have a bacon roll to warm the top half and stamp your feet to warm the nether parts.

A warm welcome to new members Robert Staley and Barry Wyatt.

Christmas cheers, Ian
