Meriden Branch Report May 2018

Five of us joined in the fun at Trifest Somerset. The weather was kind to us and made for a couple of beautiful sunsets.

Attendance could have been better at the Donington weekend as reported by Bob.

Saturday 5 from Leicester branch, 5 Meriden. Sunday 1 Leicester 5 Meriden. Nice day Saturday, saw some racing and went round looking at the stalls and bikes.

Arrived 9am Sunday and at 9.30 two chaps came round. One pointed to my T110 and said “that one” Len, Julie and I looked at each other and thought the same thing- what’s wrong? Then the other chap put a rosette on the seat. Unaware that judging had taken place, myself and Bob with a Suzuki won a third place each.

I have no report about the Rugby Bike Fest but that weekend The West Wales Rally was invaded by 13 branch members on 12 bikes including three lady riders. A brilliant weekend at a great site with perfect weather. Annette won longest distance lady rider but handed it to Mary who had actually done more miles, ah! Then Ian M won best Meriden bike with his tidy '71 TR6R Tiger.

Keep your eye on our web site for what is coming up.

Welcome to new members Alan and Shelagh Preston, Derek and Linda Everist, Paul Morris and Richard Gauge.

Our best wishes go to Alex after a nasty spill put him in hospital for a few days and now painfully recovering at home.
