Meriden Branch Report May 2016

Hello again.  May has been quite a busy month although it started off with a non event.  For many years we have displayed at the Stratford festival of motoring over the May Day bank holiday but this year we discovered that we would have to pay to display our bikes.  This was discussed at our Monday meeting and it was unanimously declared that they could forget it.

The bike 4 life festival at RAF Cosford on the 8th was attended by a convoy of 16 bikes and it was really great to see members who are generally unable to make the regular Monday meeting coming along to support us.  It was also really good to see Bargain Bill back in the saddle again.  Also Bob Johnson on his classic Tribsa thundering along with us as we travelled along the M6/M54 in the glorious sunshine.  At Cosford we joined with thousands of other bikers to enjoy the day, especially the highlight which was a Spitfire and a Hurricane flying in low formation, truly awesome.

The Rugby Bikefest was next on the 22nd.  12 bikes led in by our Steve Bradwick made this run.  The town centre was closed off and hundreds of bikes lined the streets and precinct.

Regards, Alistair.
