Meriden Branch Report July 2018

About six from the branch enjoyed good company and close encounters at the Thunderbird Rally in the quickly arranged alternative venue at Uttoxeter. The site was very full with tents almost touching, but don't tell Margaret our insurance lady! Even the kids play area was in use. I won a couple of T shirt vouchers from Redline in the raffle.

The same weekend Martin and others manned the branch stand at Triumph Day at Jacks Hill Cafe which is run by Northants branch and attracts a healthy flow of Triumphs all day.

The following weekend was the VMCC Festival of 1000 Bikes. Our branch stand was in attendance again but it wasn't as busy as previous years, maybe the heat was too much for some. My son Martin and I had a couple of track sessions which is always great fun. He had no trouble lapping my T100 on his 650.

Sunday 15th was Ton up Day at Jacks' Hill Cafe where our Geoff won an award for Best British bike with his '61 T120

The usual crowd made it to the Rabbit Rally in deepest Sussex. Boy was it hot! Once again it was great to be with good company at this excellent location. Even Mars was visible in the clear night sky.

Our stand  at Founders Day at Stanford Hall attracted some tasty machines and many visitors stopped for a chat.

Finally, welcome to new members John Richards, David Bennett and John Fishburn.

Ride safe.

Ian

PS Just heard that Reg took a tumble from his Tiger Cub when leaving Stanford Hall, Reg and bike are scraped and bruised but otherwise OK.
