Meriden Branch Report February 2023

Firstly I have to report the sad death of one of our branch members. Although he had only been a member for a couple of years Nigel Young joined in with our events and was well liked. He did suffer health issues and had various cancers which eventually he died of. Our condolences to his family.

Our biking activities consisted entirely of unofficial attendance at Wellesbourne Touch Down Cafe on Tuesdays and Hoar Park on Wednesdays, with one or 2 brave souls coming to our Monday evening meetings on bikes.

Upcoming events are: on Sunday March 26th The Mike Hailwood Memorial Run (to Tanworth in Arden). Meet at The Touchdown Cafe, Wellesbourne at 10 for 10.30 start.

On Sunday 2nd April our branch is holding its annual  Auto jumble at our HQ, the Heart of England Social Club, Meriden. Sellers from 12.00. Visitors (buyers we hope) from 1.00pm.

Our full calendar – to which more dates will no doubt be added – is on our website.

On Sunday, 26th February, we were pleased to host an Extraordinary General Meeting of the TOMCC at our base, to vote on the proposal to convert our national club into a limited company and then a Community Interest Company (CIC). About 50 members attended from all parts of the country. As it was  fairly decent weather some of us arrived on bikes.

This month we welcome new members, Philip Bowden, Thomas Walsh and Rob Allan. See you on Monday?
