Meriden Branch Report December 2016

Despite the warmer December weather not much riding took place that I am aware of.

Our Christmas dinner was enjoyed by 49 members and partners at the Toby Carvery at Stonebridge. Good to see members from further afield like Terry and Sam from Banbury. It's a pity we can't have the fun and games that we used to enjoy, blame Elf and Safety.

Some of us who are also VMCC Midland members enjoyed a Christmas meal at the Motorcycle Museum which included a Black Country cabaret act with jokes about Black Country folk!

Our worn out gazebo roof has been replaced so we should be posh for our branch stands this year. It will even have our branch badge on it.

Julie and Keith presented our cheque for £1160 at the HQ of  Warwickshire &Northampton Air Ambulance. We should have a photo but it's not available yet. We also donated £300 to Prostate Cancer UK. The money was raised mainly from our Bring it Home Rally in August, and our joint effort with the Meriden Rotary Club at the Meriden Megaride.

Watch your emails for news of a talk by ex factory man, Bob Haynes, and other events. If we haven't got your email address please get in touch.

The branch AGM is on Monday 27/2/17. All jobs up for grabs and new ideas always welcome.

A warm welcome to new members Andrew Hawkes, Andrew Shanks, Greg Street, Jamie Knowles, John and Sandra Bromley, Jonathan Hicks, Mark Hodgkins, Michael Boliver and Nigel Sutheran.

Ride safe Ian
