Meriden Branch Report March 2018

The doubtful weather didn't deter some members having a jolly, as reported by Barry.

On Monday 5th March 18 members met on a very wet evening for a buffet meal at an   Indian Restaurant in the village of Knowle near Birmingham. No one arrived by bike! The food was good and contributed to an enjoyable occasion. One or two of us then called in at our regular club gathering in Meriden village on the way home for “a swift half.”

The following Sunday a lucky 13 of us met for a Thai meal in the historic town of Kenilworth, famous for its castle. We were the first diners to arrive and by far the last to leave. This shows how enjoyable the occasion was, both in terms of the food and company.

The Mike Hailwood run on 25th was enjoyed by twenty-four riders in beautiful sunny weather.

22nd April is the ride in to Bike 4 Life Festival at RAF Cosford. A payment of £5 will get you into the event, or just go for the ride and museum visit. Meet at the Toby Carvery, Stonebridge, 9 for 9.30 away.

Make your own way to the Donnington Park Classic Race weekend on 12th-13th May where we will be sharing a stand with Leicester branch, see you there.

Rugby Bikefest is on 20th May. Meet at the Long Itchington Diner 9.30 for 10.00 for the ride-in.

Lastly, a warm welcome to new members Barry Lloyd and Barry Chard.

Ride safe, Ian
