Meriden Branch Report May 2014

First of all please accept my apologies for not completing the April report. My family were over from Australia and I just had a Senior moment!! Seems quite a common occurrence in our branch so I hope too many people didn’t notice :-)

During April we tried our first “Bring and Buy” afternoon held on Easter Sunday. Unfortunately there were only 7 stall holders and a poor turn out by the members as it poured down all afternoon!! Thanks to the stall holders and few members that did turn up. If we do this again we will have to try and arrange this in the summer where there’s a chance of some good weather.

On the 5th May approximately 15 bikes attended the Stratford upon Avon Festival of motoring after a ride in from Warwick services. A prime location for the bikes was allocated in the centre of Stratford and with fine weather a good day was had by all.

On the 26th  may approximately 20 bikes led by Keith Snell attended the Wings and Wheels charity event at Bidford on Avon and the weather stayed mostly dry with a large display of classic cars, bikes and various aircraft. With some pretty impressive “stunt” flying by one of the Bidford pilots.

Upcoming events are the “Banbury Run” at the heritage Centre on the 8th June where there will be a branch stand . The Meriden motorcycle “mega ride” will take place on the 22nd June where there will there will also be a branch stand  and finally on the 29th June a run out to the Banbury Steam Fair at Bloxham where we will be meeting at 10.30 at the Warwick services south on the A46.
